Career:
This is my 4th year in Big Hollow! I have been in education for 13 years and this is my 8th year as a middle school teacher. I am excited to get to work with the Big Hollow Staff and Families and keep growing and learning.
Education:
I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University in 2007. I wanted to teach in the younger grades when I started my career, but ended up in a 5th grade classroom. It was then that I decided to pursue my Middle Level Endorsement in Language Arts and Science followed by my Master's Degree in Special Education from Dominican University.
I then decided to pursue my National Board Certification and certified in the area of Exceptional Needs Specialist last year.
Fun Facts:
Outside of work, I enjoy reading! I read all sorts of things from non-fiction to young adult fiction and everything in between. I also enjoy cooking and hanging out with my friends and family. I love road trips and camping and doing almost anything that will get me outside. My brother lives in Denver and I look forward to visiting him each summer.
